Sandeep J. Agate
Sandeep is president and CEO of REACH Call, Inc. and brings more than 13 years of US and international executive experience in the field of speech enabled converged IP communications. Prior to REACH Call, he founded KRIXI Corp., a software technology company focused on delivering innovative converged communications solutions to leading companies worldwide, and also served as the CEO of the Asia office of one of the industry’s leading VoIP based interactive voice response solutions providers. Sandeep has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Computer Science from Kent State University.

G. Byron Brooks, M.D.
G. Byron Brooks spent 15 years as an Electronics/Communications Systems Engineer and Senior Scientist  for NASA, DOD and various other government agencies. In 1997 he graduated from the Medical College of Virginia with an M.D. He has served as a Chief Executive for several start ups ( VOIP COO in 1999). In 2001, he started working for the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston as a Telemedicine Primary Care Physician. Since 2001, he has conducted more than 25,000 telemedicine encounters. Brooks continues to conduct weekly telemedicine clinics for UTMB. He is an associate professor in the Departments of Internal Medicine and Public Health. In 2002, Brooks started TelaDoc with a friend; he remain on their Board of Advisers. He is a flight surgeon in the USFAR.
Thomas F. Brewer, MS
Mr. Brewer has 35 years experience in services management with a proven track record in developing successful teams and business system process’s. In October 2007 he became the Operations Manager of Telemedicine at The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Tom’s ongoing involvement in telemedicine development and research grants have provided a unique perspective in delivering numerous innovative and cutting edge solutions for video conferencing and remote delivery of healthcare, medical education and research.

Katherine P. Clark
Katherine P. Clark is an ANCC certified registered nurse with the Englewood Hospital and Medical Center in Englewood, NJ. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Nursing Education from University of Medicine and Dentistry and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Peter’s College in New Jersey.
Ms. Clark presently works in a Telemedicine department within a JCAHO certified Home Health agency. Here she has developed a 68 unit telemedicine department from infancy. Her program is benchmarked at state and national levels. Ms. Clark stays current with Telemedicine trends and attends the American Telemedicine Association convention yearly.
She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society and a member of the American Telemedicine Association where she is an active member of the Home Telehehealth and Remote Monitoring Special Interest group.

Dr. Brenda Hage
Dr. Brenda Hage is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Misericordia University where she teaches in the graduate FNP and undergraduate nursing programs. She is the coordinator of the Health Care Informatics Certificate Program at Misericordia University. Dr. Hage received her Ph.D. in Health Related Sciences with a concentration in Gerontology from Virginia Commonwealth University, Medical College of Virginia campus. She is an adjunct faculty member at the Virginia Commonwealth University, School of Allied Health, Ph.D. program where she teaches Health Informatics. She has been involved in a telehealth project in Guyana, South America. Her research interests include health literacy, health communication and health care informatics with a focus on aging in place.

Joseph C. Kvedar, M.D.
Joseph C. Kvedar, M.D., is founder and director of the Center for Connected Health, a division of Partners Healthcare that is applying communications technology and online resources to improve access and delivery of quality patient care. Dr. Kvedar is internationally recognized for his leadership in the field of connected health. He is a past President and board member of the American Telemedicine Association (ATA) and co-editor of Home Telehealth: Connecting Care within the Community, the first book to report on the applications of technology to deliver quality healthcare in the home.

 

J.William LaValley, M.D.
J.William LaValley, M.D. practices Integrative and Complementary Medicine as a licensed physician in Texas (Austin) and Nova Scotia, Canada since 1988 and has been practicing telemedicine since 1991. Dr. LaValley is a member of the American Medical Association (AMA), the Texas Medical Association (TMA), the Travis County Medical Society (TCMS) in Austin Texas, the Canadian Medical Association (CMA) and Doctors Nova Scotia. Since 1994 he serves as the Chairperson of the Complementary Medicine Section of the Nova Scotia division of the CMA. From 1997 to 2004, Dr. LaValley served as Complementary Medicine Expert Advisory Committee member for the federal Health Canada Natural Health Products Directorate.

 

DeeAnna Merz Nagel, M.Ed.
DeeAnna Merz Nagel, M.Ed. is a Licensed Professional Counselor in New Jersey and Georgia and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York.  She is a psychotherapist, consultant and international expert regarding online counseling and the impact of technology on mental health and is certified as a Distance Credentialed Counselor. She specializes in text-based online counseling and supervision via chat and email. She combines her knowledge of the impact of technology to all areas of the mental health field. DeeAnna is Past President (2005) of the International Society for Mental Health Online and is co-founder of OnlineTherapyInstitute.com.

Janet E. Taylor, M.D., MPH
Dr. Janet Taylor is a Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at Columbia University-Harlem Hospital. The practice of Community Mental Health is extremely rewarding to Dr. Taylor, because "being on the frontline with individuals and their families battling the emotional and economic impact of Mental Illness is where I can make a difference". She attended the University of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky for Undergraduate and Medical School. An internship in Internal Medicine at the Miriam Hospital-Brown University followed. Her psychiatric residency was completed at New York Medical College - Westchester Medical Center. She received a Master’s of Public Health in Health Promotion/Disease Prevention from Columbia University. She is a frequently invited speaker on the subjects of Minority Health, Stress Management, Technostress and Work-Life Balance.

  Jan Wuorenma, RN, BSN, MBA
Jan joins the board with 25 years of healthcare experience.  As the current VP of Partner Development for American Telecare, Inc., Jan is responsible for sales and marketing efforts with the leading provider of video and intelligent monitoring telehealth products and services.  Prior to ATI, Jan directed managed care sales for Honeywell HomMed. Jan has served in a variety of executive and management positions with HealthPartners and United Healthcare/Evercare in Minneapolis.  Jan has a passion for the use of enabling technology to improve the care and outcomes for patients with chronic disease and the care teams who serve them.
